First look~

Sitting in Starbucks meeting with Nick and Natalie, we were talking about ideas, visions, and thinking things out when I mentioned I really wanted them to think about seeing each other before the wedding.... 

Natalie explained she's more of a traditionalist and didn't think she wanted to go that route. 

Later, I sent her some perspectives from the brides and grooms that had ventured on this path before and were so pleased with their decision. 

She still wasn't sold...

So when the day of ~ came, and she told me she was game! I was floored. Excited, and ready to make this work. I think she'll be glad she did. They had a private moment together, before the ceremony. It relaxed both of them and you could see the excitement and amazement in his eyes when his beautiful bride walked up the path before him. She was breathtaking! And she took his breath away! 

 

He really seemed stunned by her beauty and at a loss for words, though words were exchanged, and I couldn't help but wonder what they were... It was special. Just the two of them. The connection, the moments right before they performed the ceremony with all their friends and family. But this time will remain theirs, and theirs alone. 

Nothing like the smell of a newborn...

I walked in to a warm house with tall ceilings and met Lani and Richard, they have a boy who is so cute I wanted to pull out my camera and start shooting him when I laid eyes on him. But the day wasn't about Elijah, it was about Julianna. At 4 weeks old she still had the newborn smell. She was alert and wide awake throughout the shoot. 

I couldn't resist taking a couple...

I bought these letters for a wedding I'm doing this weekend, but I had to play with them since my boys just spray painted them red!!  "LOVE" the way they came out....

So many more to share, but with birth announcements right around the corner, I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise!!

So with the crazy lives we all lead, who has time to blog??!! I was looking forward to shooting Rocky when he was a newborn and time passed so quickly that he's already 18 months old! But how cute is he?! This boys name gets me giggling. Rocky Guido! I love it , no middle name, just ROCKY GUIDO! With a name like that, you know he is going to have a Big personality!! 

 

Almost 2 decades ago...

Meet the Limas. Beautiful Family inside and out!! Tracy and I go back. Way back. When I thought about writing this post, I had to count. I was 22 I think, almost 2 decades ago... when we met. If you had a week I could tell you half of all the fun we've had, from dressing the same (we thought that was really cool), to outlining our lips with REALLY dark liner and pink frost gloss inside, to spending hours watching spiders on the ceiling (sorry that was an inside joke just for Tracy). Laughs, laughs, and more laughs. Ok, enough about "us" ,check out the pictures. These kids are so special, hearts of gold, great souls, and absolutely adorable! 

 

Runs in the family

These two kids are full of personality as well as blessed with looks to kill~ totally runs in the family. Their beautiful mom has shared her genes, and the porcelaine skin these kids posess is breathtaking. The camera loved them and I love the pictures.  

Gracie and Tyler have a bond that showed through the lens and their comfort and closeness with each other is precious. 

Well Done!

Dowa called me and told me she had a fabulous location picked out for her shoot. She was trying to explain all the details and the beauty. She and Steve, her husband, had been there on their own and she kept recalling favorite spots she knew she wanted to have in her pictures. I trusted her excitement and judgement and headed out their way. 

Well Done Dowa!!! The place had intresting features everywhere we turned. Throw in two beautiful girls in the mix and a lovely set of parents and voila~ !  My work is done!  

Steve did the "Daddy dance" to get these gorgeous smiles from the heart!!! How bad did I want to turn around and check him out doing the boogie??!! Pretty bad....

We found some great lighting in one of the garages.

Sooooo many more I want to share with you. This family is fun and gorgeous at the same time. We laughed a lot and I can't wait to catch them in the mud with the cows on the next shoot. Right Dowa??! Love that they'll do "anything for the shot" . My kind of peeps! 

Old friends

     There are some friends you have that you can talk to every day and then months go by without

hearing from them, but when that phone rings, you go right back to where you left off. For me, Yvonne

is one of those friends. It doesn't matter how different our lives are, or how busy we get, when we get

together for lunch to catch up, we talk and talk without a pause. We know each others history, we get

each other well, it is so comfortable and I am thankful, so thankful for a friend like her. We worked

together while we were pregnant so for me to see her boys so grown makes me choke up (and think, I

CAN'T BE THAT OLD...).  Thank goodness for pictures, so we will always be able to look back and

remember all this togetherness, and happiness! 

Sounds familiar

Jennifer rang me with a joy in her voice, wanting me to capture her three boys. Throughout the shoot I would pause and smile, it brought back so many close memories, of where I was just a couple years back... There is nothing like being surrounded by little boys that love you! 

 

 

Sisters, Mothers and Daughters (...and Roan and Michael)

Laurie and I were sipping mimosas, toasting September birthdays, in which we share, when I explained I had a cancellation.... She jumped on the spot (literally a little jump in her chair) and said "I'll take it!" Her mother and aunts were coming into town and it all just happened to work out. 4 generations captured! These ladies are fun! When Remy (4 years old) walked in, she introduced me to her "Grandma without a pinky" , long story behind that involving a farm, but she really was missing a pinky!

I've been shooting this boy since he was liiiiittttlllleeee. Love him!

Ava steals the show!

Little Ava here has lots of personality! It was fun to see her playfulness come out as I pointed the camera at her! Her red hair is beautiful!
